Top Five Weird Hotels in the World
Saturday, 27 July 2013 by Unknown
You might have visited high profile five-star hotels; they
are undoubtedly good, but they actually offer facilities of almost same
standard. Businessmen build hotels just to make profits from it, and to do so
they only concentrate on how to provide best comfort to their customers. However,
there are some people or companies who think beyond the traditional phenomenon
and build hotels that are unique, incredible and surprising.
Here, I am going to explain world’s most amazing and unique
hotels in this list.
Hotel made up of
shipping containers
As China exports millions of shipping containers each year
for being reused and recycled by others, a shipping company in there initiated
an innovative way to reuse them. The
company constructed an incredible hotel using shipping containers.
The name of this amazing hotel is Xiang Pray House and it is
located near the city of Changzhi. You will be amazed seeing that how the guidelines
for a five-star hotel are implemented in this hotel. If you look the building
from outside, it will look like a dull village made up of shipping containers;
however if you go inside, you will find almost every facility for you comfort
in it.
The luxurious infrastructure of the hotel includes 21 cozy
rooms decorated with traditional Chinese furniture, lights and more. The sizes
of the rooms are 50 or 100 sq ft, and the ceiling is 8.5 ft off the ground;
however, comfort is not comprised due to the small sized rooms.
Hotel made by Access
Cards
Holiday Inn, a well known hotel series in USA, has built a
two ton heavy hotel with the help of a record holder card-stacker Brayen berg. Mr.
Berg used 200,000 access cards collected from number of hotels to build this
400 sq ft hotel. He claims that this hotel is the most challenging thing he has
ever made.
It took almost four months to construct this hotel and just
from the opening day the hotel became centre of attraction for the people in
Manhattan. It consists of one guestroom, one bathroom, and one lobby. It would be unforgettable moment for you
visiting this hotel as even towel, toilet and carpet are made by access cards.
The hotel is just a promotional showpiece of Holiday Inn
Hotel chain; therefore don’t even think of staying over there. I have added
this hotel in the list only to show you how creative a person could be.
Hotel made of
concrete pipes
As you can see in the above picture, this hotel is built
using recycled concrete tubes. The man behind this innovative idea was Andreas
Strauss who earlier constructed a hotel named ‘Das Park Hotel’ using the same
principle. The challenge of implementing such a great idea was taken up by a company
‘T3arc’, which constructed the hotel cheaply, quickly and without sacrificing
the natural beauty around the area.
The name of the hotel is Tubohotel, located less than an hour
away from Mexico City. T3arc completed the work tremendously by adding large
number of features to provide sufficient comfort in rooms of the hotel.
Three concrete tubes are placed over a wooden site in a
pyramidal shape to build one structure of the hotel. Moreover, curtains are
fitted in each room to providing some privacy, and a set of stairs is attached
so as to access the top room of the pyramid.
Hotel constructed by
Salt Blocks
There is a hotel in Bolivia that is entirely made up of salt
blocks. Its name is ‘Palacio de Sal’ and it is located near to world’s largest
salt flat ‘Salar de Uyuni’. Salar de Uyuni is spread over 10,528
km2 and enables large supply of salt blocks to construct anything from house to
hotel.
The salt hotel is very close to the salt flat; therefore,
don’t miss visiting this amazing hotel if you plan a trip to world’s largest
salt flat. This hotel was constructed using about 1 million 14-inche salt
blocks, which were used to make each and everything inside such as bed, floor,
wall, furniture, sculpture, and more. The only thing for which salt blocks are
not used is toilet as to comply with the government’s guidelines.

These are world’s most amazing and unique hotels. I really
appreciate people who think differently and do something unusual. Building a
hotel using access cards, wine casks, and dispensable shipping containers, are such
ideas that encourage us to do things in a different way.
